GodForged

New Player Guide

Welcome to the server! You may have many questions, so this guide is meant to help you understand all of our plug-ins and features. This document is always changing, so more commonly asked questions will be found here.

Upon joining the server, you were required to be whitelisted. The reason for this is the nature of GodForged. Although it is mainly nations-oriented gameplay-wise, it is nonetheless a roleplay server. This means that you are expected to play as a character you created and interact with others as that character. Whether you are a warrior from Rome or a scholar from Greece, its endless possibilities as you make the character. We recommend reading the following docs to ensure that you know all the roleplay and server rules and understand that although Minecraft is a sandbox game, there are still limitations to what you can do.

Server Rules

Roleplay Rules

How to start?

Well, once Iris claims you upon joining, you will be teleported to Sanctus (Spawn). Here, you can buy items from vendors, sell at an auction house, and complete quests scattered among the many NPCs! You will be met with a guide when looking in front of you! He can show you around spawn to the differing buildings to get used to it and take you to the dockyard. This dockyard is essential as it houses boats that can take you to a nation's capital. The capitals are the critical areas of nations where citizens can mingle and are easily accessible to host roleplay events and roleplay. If you are part of a nation, join your nation's discord within #promoted-discords; more often than not, you can be set up by another citizen or one of its leaders!

Gathering Resources?

As we wish to protect our nation's capitals and official towns of nations from grief, you should not get resources by breaking down architecture or things within a capital. Any significant changes, such as destroying a house or landscape within a capital, must be approved by the nation leader or one of its higher authorities unless it will be qualified as grief if it gets reported. We have a vast world in which to gain resources, but doing it within the cities is not good. We have nodes scattered across the map that are open to the public; it is up to you to find them or ask if anyone knows where they are. These are generated mines that reset every 10 minutes and hold crucial ores and blocks that many seek. When chopping down trees or terraforming, make sure you don’t just mine a bit of it and leave it; we want to keep our map as clean as possible without ugly terrain grief, so please be wary of it! If you are looking to gather wood but don’t quite know where to get it on the map, there is a sapling shop in Spawn to be able to buy saplings from all the wood types (excluding cherry).

Building in the Server?

Everywhere on the server is buildable/breakable freely besides official capitals and towns. These will be marked by official lore/approval from staff as an official build upon the server, the current 4 being Avernus capital, Atlantis capital, Greece capital, and the Roman Empire capital. In towns and capitals, players will be able to decorate the interiors of their houses; however, to demolish/build something in an official town/capital will require permission from the national leader, mayor or a higher-up of the nation. If it is found that they did so without approval and the higher-ups disapprove of what was built, it will fall under grief rules. When building in an open area, just note that a new nation may be formed at any time and may ask for a building's removal if they own the section. This is mainly why we urge players to join one of the nations, as it does warrant protection against that; however, if a build you make is rejected by the nation's leaders, it may be asked to be removed as well. Any build not found up to the server theme will also be told to get removed or changed as things such as a spaceship or Japanese aesthetic building do not fit the Greek/Roman Mediterranean setting.

Nations and War

Now, as we move onto the discussion of nations, note that we do allow for the creation of more! This is to get people to work together and roleplay together. However, the creation of nations requires money, players, and lore approval.

To create a nation (As of this document)

  • Requires 10,000 drachma

  • Requires ten whitelisted players to say they are joining the nation upon approval

  • Requires a written history on the nation/lore approval. This means creating a nation's history lore, such as what we have within the wiki for the other nations, and reasons why it’d be an excellent nation to have for roleplay/what it brings to the server.

When a nation is created, they are told to select one of the sections as shown on the political map above; however, current nations may also expand. For 7,500 Drachma as a discount against the creation of a nation, they may extend their borders to an adjacent section or one across the water with enough reasoning/port being built.

War is currently a work in progress; however, nations will gain the chance to war against each other if diplomacy is not going well. Wars should still be situated in a roleplay context, and nothing about them should cause distress out of role-play. This section will be updated accordingly.
